Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary: Provides coordinated physical therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Job Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapist assistant with an associate level degree in Physical Therapist Assistant.


Licensure: Active, state license as a physical therapist assistant, or a multi-state license issued by a Physical Therapy Licensure Compact (PTLC) member state, or if licensure do not apply, meets one of the requirements listed in 42 CFR §484.115(i).


Experience: One year of experience as a physical therapist assistant, preferred.


Skills: Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies. Good interpersonal skills. Proof of current CPR certification.


Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance. Current driver’s license.


Environmental and Working Conditions: Works in a healthcare facility or patients’ homes in various conditions; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases; ability to work a flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.


Physical and Mental Effort: Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, and standing. Prolonged standing and walking required. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs, and to meet patient and family individualized psychosocial needs.
